Brooks County Sheriff Richard Chafin says the two men who broke out of the Brooks County Jail just before 10 p.m. Thursday have been apprehended.
Thirty-seven-year-old David Wayne Jackson took a gun away from a detention officer and opened fire. He forced the officers to open the doors and stole a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant.
Chafin says he and another prisoner fled on foot and Jackson's wife was taken into custody when she tried to pick up her husband.
Eighteen-year-old Cristofer Craig was apprehended by authorities Friday morning and 37-year-old David Wayne Jackson was later caught by deputies on Hickory Head Road in Brooks County.
