You could learn about all the items you'll need for your hurricane kit Saturday at the Livestock Pavilion in Quincy.
The Gadsden County Extension Service held a hurricane survival fair showing people how to properly use disaster and emergency items.
"We actually have a list of everything that's in the kits and where they can get them and how much they cost, and most of the stuff is really available in the local stores, so people can actually go out and buy them," says Elizabeth Gorimani, who is with the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.
Organizers also promoted the use of waterproof kits for storing important family and medical documents.
