If you're one who believes laughter is good medicine... you'll be happy to know that Tallahassee Memorial Hospital agrees.
Wednesday night (10/15/08) TMH teamed up with Comedy Zone owner and cancer survivor Don Yaeger to celebrate life with "Laugh for Life."
The featured comedian for the night is Ken Evans who won the title of "Funniest Person in Florida"... and is also a cancer survivor.
"It's really interesting to me from the years that I've worked with people who are cancer survivors, that they really learn a great deal about what's important in life. And we all know that laughter is really important," says Christy Harrison, the Administrator for the TMH Cancer Program.
Organizers say laughter can be therapeutic for cancer patients because it's important to have a positive attitude.
Half the proceeds from Wednesday night's event will benefit the TMH Cancer Center.
