The small town of Donalsonville, Georgia is usually a very quiet community.
But on Saturday a group of outside visitors created a whirlwind of noise.
"I've been in law enforcement for 32 years in Seminole County I've lived here all my life and this is the first Klan rally that I know of," said Seminole County Sheriff Dale Swanner.
Several months ago, the Georgia Knight Riders of the Ku Klux Klan asked for a permit to rally against illegal immigrants and sexual predators at the Seminole County courthouse.
And the Sheriff says since the county currently has no permitting process, the public meeting was granted.
"Whether you like the Klan disagree with them or not, the constitution gives them the same rights it gives any other group, to peacefully assemble," said Sheriff Swanner.
"I feel that everyone has freedom of speech but at the same time we fight against terror and terrorist and that's a terror hate group," said Calvin Brown Jr., a Seminole County resident who opposes the KKK.
And while members of the KKK behind me say they came for a peaceful rally, it's still creating a lot of controversy here in Southwest Georgia.
"It was just an excuse to bring out their main issue is white power you know we're in the United States and united means we stand together," said Ellis Aldridge who also attended the rally and opposes the KKK.
"They have a 143 year history of violence. They have killed children. If they don't wish to perpetuate that any longer, they need to change their name," said Robert Sayre of the Georgia Unity organization.
But not everyone opposed the Klan's agenda.
"I support them 100 percent and we need white people to stand up for white people's rights," said Donalsonville resident and avid KKK supporter Tommy Williamson.
Williamson says he has several friends who are a part of the KKK.
Massive safety reinforcement was brought into the city just in case a fight occurred.
More than 80 law enforcement officials were at the rally and at least half of them were hidden from public view.
Thankfully the riot gear was not put to use.
The Klan spoke for nearly 30 minutes and then chose to conclude the rally. The group was escorted out of town by police for security purposes.

sickandtired..... that's exactly what the president on Independence Day said. GOOD JOB. AND i agree
I am so tired of all of this hate mongering. Black people, white people, Mexican, Muslim, German, Chinese.....we are all people. You may think me crazy, but what if one day, aliens attack, then we'll all have to band together....and why should it take something so drastic to make us all love each other. How did this even turn into a welfare debate. You all need to stop hating and start loving and respecting each other, before it's too late. America is the absolute best place in the world to live, we have so many freedoms and so many luxuries that most other countries can only dream of. Be grateful for who you are and what you have and the color of your skin. Different religions and different ideals and different people make this a wild and wonderful land, much better than a blinded, marching, static place. Just imagine if one day you woke up to find you were the only person left on this planet...I bet you'd want a friend then, no matter what color, gender or religion.
The group should not have recieved any attention. It's what they wanted: extensive media coverage.
