Today Tallahasseans were given an offer many couldn't refuse, and teenage girls were taking over the courts. Here's more in our a wrap up of "law day."
Thursday about 15 local teenage girls met with Judge Nikki Clark at the Leon County Courthouse, sponsored by Tallahassee women lawyers. This event emphasized the presence of minorities. Judge Clark knows she's in a position to serve as an example.
Courtrooms away, Law Day was providing a rare opportunity to the public, free legal advice. Tallahassee resident Dorothy Brannon says it’s hard to put into words what this service meant.
Local lawyers say it’s their way of giving back to the community. The free legal advice seminar was sponsored by the Tallahassee Bar Association and Legal Aid Foundation.
