One of Georgia’s most notorious killers is asking for clemency.
State parole officials will review a clemency request today from Carl Isaacs. In an unusual move, they will also meet with the victims' family to hear their pleas to put him to death.
Isaacs, who is 49, is the nation's longest serving death row inmate. He is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection on Tuesday for the slaughter of six members of the Alday family in their southwest Georgia farmhouse during a burglary 30 years ago.
In a last ditch effort to avoid death; Isaacs requested Friday’s clemency hearing.
