The Tallahassee Fire Department is concerned about the potential for brush fire outbreaks because of the lack rainfall in recent months.

But while waiting for the rain, firefighters are also worried about what may come with the rain.

Charles Perrit a firefighter in Tallahassee says, "Some of the disadvantages of rain are the heavy lightening we experience in the afternoon during thunderstorms, the rain may get an inch or two but usually the lightening will precede the rain which will ignite the fires."

Tallahassee currently has a rain deficit of nearly one foot.
