A local bookkeeper is in jail. She's accused of stealing nearly half a million dollars from her employer.
Twenty-nine-year-old Erica Goodwin is facing grand theft, money laundering, and violation of probation charges.
Affiliated Title Services notified Tallahassee police that they suspected irregularities with their account by their bookkeeper.
After a thorough investigation, Goodwin was arrested. Police say she bought her house with the money, paying $213,000 in cash.
She is also accused of using the money to buy three vehicles, purchase furnishings for her house and to take vacations. Police say Goodwin has admitted to transferring all of the money into her personal account.
