From its historic homes, to it's newly remodeled courthouse, Thomasville remains one of south Georgia’s most popular tourist hot spots.
The mission of foundation members is to help fund development and revitalize efforts in smaller cities across the Peach State.
"People just want to get out of the hustle and bustle here like in Atlanta and they want to come to see the charm and Thomasville just offers, spades here,” explains Sheryl Sealy of the Thomasville Welcome Center.
Since 1999, the Georgia Cities Foundation has funded more than $1 million to the city of Thomasville. The foundation is currently working on building a new retail outlet and residential quarters in the downtown area.
