It was the first ever teen summit presented by the Jake Gaither Community Center and Tallahassee Urban League.
Teens participated in workshops dealing with topics such as sexually transmitted diseases, self esteem and possible dangers associated with the hip hop culture.
"Students get to learn about other things just besides going to school and going to work. They also teach you other things that you might not feel comfortable with talking with your parents or other people. You can just come in and listen. You don't have to ask any questions or anything," says Keishann Corley, a teen participating in the summit.
This teen summit was open to all teens and was free of charge.
