People trying to quit smoking have to deal with a physical and behavioral addiction and experts say to truly kick the habit counseling is a must.
With programs such as the American Lung Association's "Freedom from Smoking,” smokers can learn how to change their ways for good.
Brenda Olsen of the American Lung Association said, "Nutritional guidance, healthy foods to eat, fresh fruits and vegetables, things to do with their hands. We also teach them relaxation techniques so that when they are having a hard craving or a heavy urge they are prepared to know what to do."
Olsen says as difficult as quitting can be, it's important to rid yourself of a tobacco addiction to avoid suffering from the many diseases associated with smoking.
