Three teenagers were arrested and charged with burglary of a dwelling in the Killearn Lakes area.
Shortly before 2:00 a.m. on July 13, 2006 deputies were called to a home in the 7000 block of Standing Pines Lane. The victim reported that he came home to find a subject lying on the floor of his garage between two vehicles.
The victim said the subject fled and he followed him through the neighborhood. The victim told deputies he found the subject hiding behind another car in the neighborhood and they became involved in a verbal confrontation. The victim told deputies he then recognized the subject as Kalan R. Norris, 17. The victim said that Norris fled the area as he called 9-1-1.
As deputies were at the victim’s residence processing the alleged crime scene, Norris and another subject drove up. Deputies interviewed Norris about the alleged burglary and according to reports he confessed.
As a K-9 Team arrived at the alleged burglary scene, two additional subjects came up to the residence. These subjects, Darnell Jordan, 18, and Kevin Bryant, 18, advised deputies they were also involved in the incident. During interviews they admitted to also doing burglaries in the area.
All of the teenagers were taken to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and turned over to property crime detectives for further interviews. The investigation continues.
