Pirates Invade Kleman Plaza

Decked out swash bucklers of all ages invaded Kleman Plaza and the Mary Brogan Museum. Museum officials say the event celebrates the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean" and teaches kids the science of the pirate's life.

Kids participated in various science activities with a pirate theme.

"Everybody's trying to see the new movie and everybody loves pirates, and it's just a fun way to have a Saturday," said Annemarie Robins, who had just finished digging for treasure.

"We built a boat and we're going to go try that out at the pool, and we've done the treasure hunt and we did the digging thingy for gold coins," added Elizabeth Miller, another pirate participant.

The museum is holding a pirates science camp next week beginning Monday morning. Kids can register for the camp until it reaches full capacity.
