Commissioner Brian Langston is pushing for approval of plans for a new ambulance center in Wakulla Station.
The center will help serve residents who are 25 minutes away from the Crawfordville Station, and as we all know when emergencies rise, every minute counts.
"With the northeast part of Wakulla County we are lacking ambulance service," said Commissioner Brian Lanston. "Our EMS director brought to my attention that the EMS took a lot longer to get up in that area of the county."
With some of the land already cleared, officials hope to have the new station up and running in the fall.
The new ambulance service center will also offer a helicopter landing site.
