Charges were dropped in a Tallahassee murder case after the key witness refused to rat out his friend.
The state dropped murder charges Tuesday against 24-year-old Twan Mitchell.
Mitchell is one of two men accused of robbing and killing Antonio Steele near the Top Flight Club in March 2004.
Mikel Cotton is serving a life sentence for the murder and told prosecutors he would only testify against his friend if they reduced his sentence. The court said no.
Without that testimony, prosecutors said they did not have enough evidence against Mitchell to take the case to trial.
