Last summer a developer agreed to sell more than 74,000 acres of Punta Gorda property to the state for permanent preservation.
The Sierra Club was challenging the deal, but Thursday that challenge was withdrawn.
The deal to sell the ranch for more than $300 million will be settled later this month, and then the land will become the property of Florida.
The state plans to keep the land undeveloped and open for public use.
