Police say Tony McGeehee is accused of shooting 25-year-old Willie Peterkin on Memorial Day in a west Tallahassee neighborhood. They say the two men were arguing when police say McGeehee pulled out a gun, shooting Peterkin several times in the leg.
Peterkin survived the attack and McGeehee escaped. Neighbors say they still remember the incident.
Thomas Ball, a neighbor, said, "They got in an argument down there and the one that got shot jumped on top of the car, the other one's car, and he brought a gun out and started shooting."
Nearly two months later police caught up to McGeehee at a St. Pete home, but not without trying to out run authorities once again. They say he faces attempted first degree murder charges.
