Around 7:30 Saturday Evening, Tallahassee police say they were trying to pull over 37-year-old Jerry Phillips, who was driving a 1996 Grand Marquee on Holmes Road.
Police say Phillips tried to get away because he was driving without a license.
SGT Dewey Riou of the Tallahassee Police Department said, "His vehicle was pitted by a patrol car. He exited the vehicle and began to run, and the officers caught him after a brief foot pursuit, but he still continued to resist and the officers applied the taser a couple of times in the struggle."
Phillips faces multiple charges including battery on an officer.
