The Office of Insurance Regulation says Tropical Storm Fay created more than $246 million worth of damage to homeowners and businesses in Florida.
It says more than 41,000 claims were filed with Florida insurers from damages throughout the state.
Business owners in Leon County received substantial damage also.
One business owner in the Timberlake Subdivision says he received $15,000 worth of damages when the lake flooded.
Waters soaked the air conditioning duct underneath the building.
"We just built this building and so it was all brand new stuff and so it all had to be replaced. I mean as soon as it...Basically as soon as it was put in brand new, we had to replace it again, because of tropical storm Fay," said Executive Director of Tallahassee's Teen Challenge, Deron Gillespie.
He says he applied for a $5,000 grant but still has not heard anything.
