The city is holding a workshop inviting residents to learn more about the project and also encouraging ideas from locals on what they want Cascades Park to look like.
Residents say they're excited about the project, but have some questions and concerns.
Edward Jonas said, "I'm interested in historic preservation. I'm interested in the art that's going to go into it. I'm also concerned about storm water runoff and how that's going to be handled by the stream."
T.J. Lewis added, "The city just purchased a lot of property over on that side from the state. It would be nice if they could work together to make the downtown look more vibrant."
Organizers will compile all of the input gathered and hold the next citizens meeting September 14.
