Officials with Florida A&M University are in continued talks with StarMetro in regards to campus transportation this fall.
StarMetro Executive Director Ron Garrison said the bus company is about to sign a interim agreement with FAMU until the complete contract is done.
A dispute arose when FAMU's ridership numbers went up from students abusing their Rattler cards, resulting in the university losing money.
"We are looking at the contract in a new way, providing better information, so it works better in how FAMU does business and how we do business," said Garrison.
FAMU Police Chief Calvin Ross said StarMetro's new fare box system should give both parties an accurate count of who's riding, as well as an accurate amount the university should pay in ridership.
