Missing Girl Now Considered Endangered

After nearly two weeks of searching, a Tallahassee mother is fighting to keep hope that her daughter is still alive.

The case of 12-year-old Kami Pettway has been upgraded from runaway to endangered child.

Betty Cooper painfully remembers a phone conversation with her 12-year-old daughter Kami Pettway. That was May 9, and it was also the last time Ms. Cooper heard from her child.

With Kami's disappearance approaching two weeks, Tallahassee police say there were several factors that led to her case being upgraded from runaway to endangered child.

Flyers have since been circulating Tallahassee and surrounding communities.

Kami Pettway is 5’6”, weighs 130 pounds and has brown eyes. She wears braces and has a scar on her left thigh.

Ms. Cooper admits there are times she feels it’s hopeless, especially as the days go by.

Tallahassee police ask if you spot Kami, do not confront her, but call police at 891-4200, and keep an eye on her until law enforcement arrives.
