Attorneys for Tabitha Mullings say the 32-year-old went to the Brooklyn Hospital Center with pain and was diagnosed as having a kidney stone.
She was given medication for the pain and sent home but was then rushed back to the hospital the next day with more pain.
She then fell into a coma for about two weeks and was diagnosed with an infection.
Attorneys say she should have been admitted and given blood tests on her first visit.
They say that mistake cost her both hands, both feet, and sight in one eye.
Hospital officials have not commented publicly.
