State and local leaders met in Gadsden County Monday to discuss ways of how to address substance abuse.
This Second Annual Substance Abuse Summit offered community leaders a forum to discuss ways to tackling alcohol and drug abuse.
The keynote speaker was Jennifer Hawkins with the office of the White House.
Hawkins says everyone is either directly or indirectly affected by drugs in the community.
"They are all over the place. They don't know a race. They don't know your socio-economic status or educational background. It's a problem that everyone is touched by," expressed Hawkins, who says tackling drug abuse is a combined effort between local schools and churches, and community members.
