"I have to say I was intrigued by the name of the restaurant," a customer says.

In this case, the name does not say it all.

Its certainly not a shack....the lively, spacious restaurant features local bands, karaoke and TVs for your sports fix.

Oh yeah, and there are oysters too... but that's not why we're here.

Bird's serves the Best Burgers in the Big Bend.

Rod Mayo, a customer, says, "I think the juiciness of them, the freshness of them, and just the size of them for the value, its awesome."

Customer Harry Friends says, "The uniqueness of them, each is individually hand-made."

"Its not really us making the best burger, its the people that are actually ordering it," says the owner, Jay "Bird" Pelham, "Each person gets to make their own burger, we have basically a build-your-own sandwich."

Customers can craft their creation right at their table.

You start with a choice of spices...then pick your cheese, toppings and size.

There's the "Big Burger" thats half a pound...then the 'Bigger Burger' thats OVER a pound!

"Its pretty monstrous, you can look at the bar and see some photos," Pelham says.

Bird's been in business for less than a year, but word is spreading like wildfire.

"Everything's good here," one customer says.

"Just fell in love with it and I've been telling everybody about it," says Mayo.

And everybody can have a great time with drink specials and a wide selection.
