Quincy Business Park Groundbreaking

Business may soon be booming in the city of Quincy and Gadsden County. City and county officials alike are incredibly excited about a new business park and what it’s going to mean to everyone.

Tuesday, the city hosted a much awaited ground breaking ceremony off of Joe Adams Road. The city recently received a rural business enterprise grant from the United States Department of Agriculture.

The grant will allow this land to become a business park for qualifying companies. City and county officials say one of the best things about the park is new jobs.

"We're expecting 42 new jobs with the current two companies, that's wonderful,” says Sherry Vanlandingham, of the Gadsden County Chamber of Commerce.

The grant is for more than one hundred, eighty thousand Dollars. There are already two companies set to go in the new business park.

Al Tech is up and running, and the groundbreaking ceremony is for Big Bend Rebar Incorporated. They also plan on developing on the other side of Joe Adams Road, but no one was quite ready to say what companies are in negotiations to possibly build there. One way or another, they will.
