Gov. Jeb Bush officially called another special session Thursday morning with the sole purpose of dealing with the rising cost of medical malpractice insurance rates.
In a proclamation to the Florida Senate and House of Representatives, the governor said he is calling the special session because no medical malpractice legislation had been passed during the regular session.
Jeb Bush, said, "I believe it will accomplish, over time, an on going reduction in rates and a robust insurance market that will give hospitals and doctors peace of mind to carry out their important function."
The special session will commence at noon on Monday June 16 and continue to Thursday, June 19.
