A man accused of setting fire to a Tallahassee grocery store is now facing up to 30 years in prison.
It took a jury just half an hour to convict 41-year-old Clayton Carter of arson for a 2005 fire at the Albertson's on Apalachee Parkway.
According to prosecutor Owen Kohler, the key witness was Carter's own girlfriend who says he admitted to setting the fire as a diversion so he could steal some cigarettes.
Sentencing is set for September.
