More than a week after police sought warrants against a Valdosta obstetrician for criminal abortion, investigators still have been unable to locate Dr. Charles Rossman.
Rossman is charged with giving a pregnant woman a labor-inducing medication, and then leaving her alone in his office. She was more than 30 weeks pregnant, making the abortion illegal.
Police say Rossman appears to have abandoned his practice. A local newspaper speculated that Rossman had left the country, but investigators say there's no evidence of that. He could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted on the criminal abortion charge.
