Randy died Saturday after a two and half year battle with Lou Gehrig's disease.
The rain did not keep family and friends from filling the chapel at Culley's Meadowood Tuesday afternoon.
During the service, his best friend since childhood talked about the randy he knew; the athlete who was always picked first when picking teams, and the college roommate he sat beside in a convertible as they rode down I-75 with the scent of orange blossoms in the air.
Randy worked here at Channel 6 for more than a decade before leaving the station in 2000.
He is survived by his wife and two teenage sons. He was 46 years old.
