A pedestrian was hit by an Amtrak passenger train in Tallahassee just before 8 p.m. Wednesday evening. Though there are few details at this time, here's what we do know.
The accident happened in the 600 block of East Call Street when an unidentified black male stepped in front of the engine of the oncoming train. The train was unable to stop.
The victim was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Police say at this time, they have no reason to suspect foul play. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
