Woman Accidentally Shoots Boyfriend While Attempting to Commit Suicide
Police say a woman accidentally shot her boyfriend while she was allegedly trying to kill herself.

Tallahassee Police Officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Portland Avenue at approximately 6:35 Thursday morning, January 1st, in reference to a person who had been shot.

The on-scene investigation indicated the man and woman who lived there had been involved in an argument.

It appears the male subject was accidentally shot in the shoulder by the female when she was attempting to kill herself, resulting in his non-life threatening injuries. No one else was injured.

The man was transported by EMS to the hospital and the woman was taken into protective custody under the Baker Act.

The names of both suspects are being withheld because of privacy law. At this time it is not known if charges will be filed.
