The Georgia Army National Guardsmen are taking time out from their careers to show their appreciation to their employers; they took them to see their other job.
Local employers and civic leaders took part in the boss lift 2003, which treated them to a helicopter ride to Ft. Stewart. The group witnessed several training exercises by the 48th Infantry Brigade.
The purpose of the event was to reassure the citizens why they should continue to support the National Guard. The world is changing and they are depending on the National Guard more and more, which means more time away from hometowns, families, and jobs.
Due to the weather, only two groups from Valdosta were able to participate Sunday. The rest have rescheduled for Tuesday.
