This week, a Tallahassee circuit court judge ruled Holton, creator of the cancer drug Taxol, be awarded the return of his $11 million gift to the university, plus interest.
FSU attorney Betty Stephens says Holton was not awarded the $18.5 million the university has received in money earned from Taxol royalties.
Holton sued the university because he said FSU reneged on an agreement to include a molecular research center as part of the new chemistry building set for completion in 2008.
