Valdosta continues its tradition of celebrating the 4th of July the day before, so folks who are going out of town for the weekend can take part in the celebration.
Thursday morning, fireworks crew were setting up between the rain showers for Thursday's spectacular show slated to begin at 9:45 p.m., but the festivities began way before that at the promenade shop parking lot, with live performances, free giveaways and plenty of food and fun.
Organizers say it's the perfect way to lead right into the grand finale.
