Every year, millions of Americans celebrate our nation's birthday with get-togethers and fireworks, but for 15 Americans, this year's celebration is something they will remember for a lifetime.
Fifteen people took their first steps in achieving their American dreams. As of July 4, 2003, they are U.S. citizens. Some of these new Americans have waited as many as 20 years to take heir oath and officially pledge their allegiance to America and her flag.
Now, all those years of practicing the pledge has paid off. In order to become U.S. citizens, these new Americans made an official oath to denounce their previous countries for the u.s.
