Dangers of Leaving Children in Unattended Vehicles

Hot Car

A Florida toddler is the victim of a daycare worker's mistake. The three-year-old died after being left in a van in for more than two hours.

Thursday, we talked with local law enforcement and parents about the dangers of leaving your children behind.

It was reportedly 90 degrees around the time Dominique Royals was trapped in the van. Forgotten by day care workers, the three-year-old succumbed to the heat and died at a nearby hospital.

Wade Johnson says his nine-month-old son is always by his side, wherever he goes, little Seth goes, but law enforcement want to stress its not just heat that prays on children left unattended.

Wheeler says it's against the law in the state of Florida to leave a child or a pet unattended in a motor vehicle.
