Tallahassee Community College has received a hefty grant to help those living with disabilities stay active, while continuing to break physical barriers.
TCC has just received a $45,000 grant from the Florida Department of Education.
The money will go to Florida’s Disabled Outdoors Association, which is an organization aimed at giving those with disabilities a sense of freedom.
"People with disabilities are just like people without disabilities. They have desires, interests, need for leisure and an active lifestyle. But many of them work much harder than able-bodied people," says President David Jones, of the FDOA.
In October, the FDOA will hold a Disability Awareness Week at Florida State University.
