Tragedy in California this week, as an elderly man's car careened through a marketplace, killing ten. The incident is now driving the issue of tougher requirements for elderly drivers to the forefront.
Florida's laws are among the weakest, allowing everyone to get two six year renewals by mail, but new legislation targeting senior drivers could help protect everyone on the road.
In Florida, 650,000 licenses are issued to drivers over the age of 80. Next year, seniors turning 80 will be required to celebrate by taking a vision test.
