Local Teen Chosen for State Superintendent Student Council

Karen Head is a ninth grader at Thomas County Central High School, and being just 14 years old she will get the chance to share her ideas of how Georgia schools should run with the state superintendent.

Head is the only one joining the council from the entire southwest area.

Karen Head said, "Well, one, it's a really good learning experience, but I really hope they'll use some of the ideas that we give out to help.”

Meetings for the student council will begin in October at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.
