[UPDATE] Tallahassee, FL-- March 26, 2012 - 5:26pm - By: Deneige Broom

A family of three made it out of a fiery car crash alive.

The man who troopers say caused the crash didn't.

Florida Highway Patrol says Randall Dender was speeding down Orange Avenue around 3:15 Saturday afternoon.

At the same time, Chester Brown, his wife Yolanda and their son were on the other side of the road.

FHP says Dender tried to pass a car but lost control.

He crossed over the median, and hit the family's car head-on.

The family's Cadillac burst into flames.

"I was crushed," was all Donnell Davis said at first.

We caught up with him just down the road from Shady Grove Primitive Baptist.

He's been a member there since he was a boy.

Chester Brown is his pastor.

"I also know that he is a conqueror," said Davis. "He's a great man and this is just the beginning of greater things has to do which God has in store for him to do."

Dender was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where he died.

We're told he owned a construction and remodeling company in Tallahassee.

He was 56 when he died.

On Monday, Chester and Yolanda Brown were listed in "fair" condition at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. We're not sure about the child's condition. FHP does not have any more information about what caused Dender to lose control.
