Murder Investigation

The Leon County Sheriff's Office says a man found dead in his apartment Friday was murdered. They aren't yet saying what killed 29-year-old Shermayne Jones.

Deputies say a woman asked them to check on him. She told them she was worried because she had not heard from Jones in days.

When deputies entered his Jackson Bluff Road apartment, they found Jones' body on the floor. An autopsy was performed Friday. Investigators say Jones is a victim of murder but aren't releasing the exact cause of death.

No arrests have been made in this case, but if you have any information related to the murder, please contact deputies at 922-3300.
