Commisssioner Rudy Maloy's Case Continues

The Florida Commission on Ethics weighed in Thursday morning in the case of Leon County commissioner Rudy Maloy, but the allegations of sexual harassment and misuse of office against the commissioner still aren't over.

Instead of making a final decision, commissioners voted to send the case back to administrative law judge John van Lanningham.

Commissioners apparently accepted the argument of the prosecutor, that sexual harassment and misuse of office is not the same thing, and agreed the judge should not have used a federal civil rights statute in making his ruling.

It's unclear whether that legality will affect the judge's recommended ruling, which was to find Maloy innocent of the accusations.
