Tonight we continue our look into the recovery of Olympic equestrian Darren Chiacchia....

He's not back to full strength, but he's already back in the winners circle.

Just this past weekend, Darren won the advanced at Rocking horse, his first win since the accident. It was a small competition, but considering what he's been through, it was nothing short of a miracle.

It's just before 9am on the Chiacchia farm in Ocala. Darren is teaching the next generation of event riders. And he's doing it in a way that only Simon Cowell could appreciate.

"The pattern is very important and you're just not so good at it."

That he's teaching anything **is** good. That he's walking, talking, and thinking of riding again is a medical miracle. That he's making jokes, is just Darren being Darren.

"It's funny, the people that work for me are like, I think we liked you better when you were brain injured."

And he was brain injured, not even a year ago. And now, Darren Chiacchia is back to work, back with his horses, and back to life on the farm.

But he's not ready to ride like he used to. And no one could blame him if he never got back on a horse.

"In this stage of recovery, I'm not taking any of those extra risks."

"That's what I promised my neurologist and I promised my mother and I've never broken a promise to my mother."

But in time, he will get back on the horse. Because that's what Darren Chiacchia does. But he won't do it until he's mentally ready, and of course, he gets the ok from mom.

"To be competitive, any top competitor will tell you. To win a competition, you always take a chance or two. That's just life. I'm not there for a lot of reasons."

But he will be **there**. And when he is, he'll start thinking about the World Championships, the Pan Am games, and the big one, the 2012 Olympics in London. Some say it's crazy and just plain stupid. But if we've learned one thing about Darren Chiacchia, that's never to count him out.

"I just feel like, this is not how I want to retire. I want to choose it. I don't want it to choose me."

Please say, This isn't so. After reading the first comment left, in reference to "Friends" taking money meant for Mr. Chiacchia, I am in shock. I am truly having a hard time rapping my mind around this statement. I hope and pray this is not true. If indeed this is true, I hope the person, or people involved are dealt with accordingly. In closing, I pray my contribution did indeed help Mr. Chiacchia in some way.

It's said that his 'friends' stole all of his money while he was in recovery. I hope they know Karma can be an ugly, hurtful thing sometimes. Nice to see he found some new friends though. Glad to see you doing better Chiacchia
