The latest good-news comment is from Governor Jeb Bush today. He says he's optimistic that he and the Legislature will soon reach a compromise on a bill aimed at lowering doctors' medical malpractice insurance rates.
And he says the agreement could come in time for a special session of the Legislature next week. It would be the third one to try to solve the issue.
The governor says he'll likely decide tomorrow whether an agreement is close enough at hand to bring lawmakers back for that third special session. Two special sessions this summer ended without an agreement.
Bush's comments came during a speech today in Tampa.
