A Tallahassee man is facing arson and other charges in connection with a fire at a local church back on the 4th of July. The State Fire Marshal's Office and the Tallahassee Fire Department have arrested 28-year old Franklin J. Washington.
The fire in the 2400 block of Dantzler Street, broke out in the kitchen and resulted in an estimated $30,000 worth of fire and smoke damage.
Washington was also charged with three counts of burglary at the church, burglary to a conveyance and arson of a vehicle.
The congregations of the New Bethlehem Church and the Greater Antioch Church of Christ Written were using the building for services on alternating Sundays.
