September is Women's Cancer Prevention Month.
Archbold Hospital in Thomasville has stepped in for prevention with a lecture, informing people about cancer. The topic of discussion was the types of cancers women can get, symptoms, treatments, and preventative measures such as annual pap exams and mammograms, and the lecture wasn't just for the ladies.
Nurse Practitioner Heather Stroh organized the lecture and said, "Anyone and everyone, men and women alike, anybody that knows a woman, because all women are affected by breast cancer, cervical cancer, uterine cancer, all of these."
Medical experts say even though some people may feel uncomfortable when it comes to topics of breast exams and pap smears, they say just talking about it and becoming informed can save your life.
