Triple E Fundraiser

People across South Georgia are doing what they can to help the family of a Valdosta girl recently infected with eastern equine encephalitis. Saturday, members of the Ossipe Temple sponsored a barbecue cookout in downtown Valdosta.

Many people stopped by to enjoy the food, and donate to the Jennifer Tucker fund. Tucker is still hospitalized, and organizers hope this fund-raiser will help her family with the expensive treatment.

"As soon as we found out that this had happened, we got together and planned it out and decided to come out and do what we could to support the family," said Ossipe member, Frank Johnson. “I came because it’s a good cause to help the family because they are in need. And we don’t ever know if it might touch me and my family so, I’m just concerned and I have sympathy for the family,” said Earlene Ford.

The prince hall shiners say the money raised will help Tucker family travel back and forth from Valdosta to Augusta, where the girl is hospitalized.
