People were encouraged to bring aluminum cans to the Home Depot on Capital Circle. Those who donated received 40 cents per pound of aluminum cans.
Those who came out to support the CANpaign could either keep the change or donate the money to a school of their choice.
Nancy Moon, who donated several cans, said, "We always recycle our aluminum cans and paper products and everything that we use, and that we can recycle and we just thought it would be a good way to help us win the can CANpaign.”
WCTV helped sponsor the CANpaign event. The city who collects the most cans will win up to $10,000 in awards.
