Tallahassee Community College students majoring in math and science are about to get a financial boost.
The National Science Foundation has awarded TCC a $460,000 grant.
The money will provide more than 160 scholarships to be awarded to students over the next four years.
"The program will provide tutors for the students as well as mentors for them so they can be successful when they transfer on up to their four-year institutions," said Frank Brown, Dean of Math and Science at TCC.
Brown hopes the grant will help in attracting more students to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
